Dr. Sönke Mehrgardt

Sönke Mehrgardt spent five years on the Board of Directors of Infineon Technologies and, as CTO, was responsible for more than 5,000 engineers with an R&D budget exceeding EUR 1 billion.

Prior to Infineon, he was President for Signal Processing and Control Engineering at Siemens Semiconductors. In this position he successfully restructured several divisions in the area of communications and entertainment, returning them to profitability and enabling them to grow quickly. Prior to working for Siemens, Sönke Mehrgardt spent ten years at ITT Semiconductors as Director of Research and Development and Production Director.

Sönke Mehrgardt studied physics and gained a PhD for his research into new kinds of audio-algorithms and technologies from the University of Göttingen. In the course of his career in industry he has produced numerous outstanding inventions in the field of consumer and communications electronics that have resulted in over 200 international patents.

Sönke Mehrgardt represents MVP in the Advisory Boards of Silicon Line.
